Alex Gairdner - BSc(Hons) Physio, Acup. BSc(Hons) SpSc

Alex completed his first Bachelor of Science Honours degrees in sports science and exercise physiology in 1999. Then he completed his second degree in physiotherapy from Coventry University.

For the last 11 years Alex has been in the sports science field in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand working in the lab and out in the field with athletes from grass roots to elite level to help them get the maximum from each performance.

Alex has performed research into the effects of electrolyte drinks on performance and the aerobic exercise effects on back pain, among others. He has been involved with developing training and rehabilitation programs with professional athletes in sports ranging from basketball to triathlon/ironman, football, snowboarding and now golf.

Alex first picked up a golf club at the age of 4 and is a keen golfer and now plays to a single figure handicap.

He is now a physiotherapist in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and currently working with the National league football and basketball teams as well as individually with a number of elite athletes.
