Power Drill 7

A lot of golfers struggle to get the feeling of coming down into the ball with their right shoulder a lot lower than their left. Consequently, a lot of golfers swing over the top and slice the ball. But today we have a great drill to help you get the feeling of your right shoulder coming under as you’re swinging down and through the ball.

To do this drill here is what you need to do…

Get your wedge and your driver. Then setup with your driver as normal and have your wedge close by.

Once setup then place your driver head about 2-3 feet directly in front of your back foot and put your left hand on top of the driver shaft leaving your right hand free. Once you’re in this position then grab your wedge and hold it with just your right hand.

Then simply swing your right hand back as if you were hitting a shot. From your backswing position then simply swing your right arm down and under, but keep the arm on top of the shaft in pretty much the same position as it was to start with. Keep swinging your right arm under and up so it finishes under your left under arm. Also make sure your thumb on your right hand is pointing straight up at the end of your follow-through.

All of this will probably be as clear as mud so watch this drill in motion by clicking the play button below…

Do this drill over and over again if your problem shot is a slice or you push a lot of golf shots. It’s a really great drill to get the correct feeling of your right shoulder moving under as you’re hitting through the ball.
